Development project for aerated concrete composite material suitable for construction of near zero energy buildings

Riigiressursside Keskus OÜ received support for the aerated composite material development project in the amount of € 459,669 for the period of Feb 1, 2021 – Jan 14, 2023 through the “Research and development program in smart specialization growth areas” activity of the European Union funding measure “Increasing local socio-economic impact of the RD&I system and smart specialization for development of growth areas”.

The purpose of the support is to contribute to the financing of applied research and product development of enterprises in public R&D institutions, thereby promoting knowledge transfer between enterprises and Estonian public R&D institutions.

The recipient of the support for the development project for aerated concrete composite material suitable for construction of near zero energy buildings is Riigiressursside Keskus OÜ.

Research institutions involved in the project include the University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology, in cooperation with whom it is planned to develop a technological process for the production of materials based on autoclaved aerated concrete and insulation layer.

As a result of development and further developments, it is possible to manufacture aerated concrete insulated building elements based largely on resources found in Estonia.
